Jadon Frame Tops SAS Field at Thunderhill Raceway to Win Mark Fields Memorial
(SUMMERTOWN, TENNESSEE) The annual ‘Mark Fields Memorial’ took place on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway and it was Jadon Frame that topped the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties field to record the victory! Jadon knocked down the second quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session, which locked him into the inside of the second row for the start of the 40-lap main event. After polesitter Oakley Johns paced the field for the first twenty-four circuits, Jadon made the winning pass on the twenty-fifth lap and never looked back.
The Winchester, Tennessee ace then held off a charging Tucker Anderson to secure the $5,026 payday. Finishing a mere 0.283 of a second behind Frame at the checkers was fifth-starting Anderson, who stretched out his current SAS point lead with the runner-up performance. Randall Beckwith moved up a spot to round out the podium in third. Outside polesitter Dillard Hatchett ran up front early, flew off the backstretch to draw a lap-13 yellow, and later rallied from the back of the pack to salvage a fourth place effort. Oakley Johns slipped to fifth after earning Fast Time honors and pacing the field for the majority of the ‘Mark Fields Memorial.’
Jadon Frame piloted a Riggs Motorsports #81 Longhorn Chassis with sponsorship in part from Riggs Fiber, Gateway Tire and Service, Wiles Driveshafts, United Truck Driving School, Poultry Electric, Triune Trailers, Best One Tire and Auto Care, Burton Racing Services, M&M Lawn Care, Budweiser, and VP Racing Fuels.
A total of 23 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties competitors piled into the pit area at the Summertown, Tennessee venue for round twelve of the tour. Dillon Daves went quickest in MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps, while Oakley Johns stopped the clock fastest overall during VP Racing Fuels qualifying with a quick lap of 12.386 seconds. Jack Franklin topped the lone consolation race.
Next up for the SAS stars will be a pair of special events in the Bluegrass State over the August 28-29 weekend. On Friday night at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky, the annual ‘Jerry Denson Memorial’ is on tap and a $7,500 top prize will be up for grabs. The action will then quickly shift to Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday evening for the $12,022 to win ‘Harold Hardgrove Memorial.’ More information on both of these venues can be accessed online at www.ponderosaspeedway.net and www.lcspeedway.net.
