Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Roars into Bluegrass State for Pair of Lucrative Events
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Rounds thirteen and fourteen of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties schedule will take place this upcoming weekend in the Bluegrass State! The 'Jerry Denson Memorial' will kick off the lucrative doubleheader on Friday, August 28 with a $7,502 top prize up for grabs at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. Action quickly shifts to Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky on Saturday, August 29 for the 15th edition of the 'Harold Hardgrove Memorial,’ which will shell out a $12,022 winner’s check. In all, over $65,000 in purse and bonus money is on the line this weekend for SAS competitors!
After twelve Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series events so far in 2026, there have been nine different winners - Brandon Overton (3 victories), Tucker Anderson (2 victories), Chris Madden, Trae Kirk, Bo Slay, Sam Seawright, Shane Clanton, Michael Page, and Jadon Frame. Tucker Anderson currently sits atop of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series point standings by 118 markers over a top five that includes Kendall Franklin, Dillon Daves, Billy Franklin, and Will Hicks.
At Ponderosa Speedway on Friday, the pit gates will open at 4:00pm and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the facility at 4:30pm. The drivers meeting is set for 7:00pm and hot laps will light up the racetrack shortly after the drivers meeting is complete. General admission is $30.00 for adults and FREE for kids ages 12 and under. Pit admission is $45.00 for adults, $20.00 for kids ages 6-12, and FREE for children ages 5 and under.
Joining the Super Late Models on the ‘Jerry Denson Memorial’ racing card will be the Crate Late Model ($1,502 to win), Open Wheel Modified ($1,002 to win), Crown Vic ($502 to win), and FWD 4-Cylinder ($402 to win) divisions.
