Cory Hedgec0ck Sweeps SAS Program at I-75 Raceway for $5,000 Victory
(SWEETWATER, TENNESSEE) Cory Hedgec0ck, of nearby Loudon, Tennessee, secured his first Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties victory of the 2026 season on Saturday night at I-75 Raceway! Cory swept the SAS program at the Sweetwater, Tennessee facility, as he laid down the quickest times in both hot laps and qualifying prior to leading each of the 40 circuits in the main event. After rolling off from the pole, Cory grabbed the top spot at the drop of the green flag and stayed out front through six caution flags to bag the $5,000 winner’s check.
Finishing 1.131 seconds back in the runner-up spot at the unfurling of the checkered flag was ninth-starting John Ownbey, of Cleveland, Tennessee. Cruz Skinner, who topped Group B during the qualifying session, rolled off from the outside of the front row before rounding out the podium in third. Current SAS point leader Tucker Anderson advanced four positions during the 40-lapper to finish fourth, while Heath Hindman moved past five competitors en route to a strong fifth place effort.
Cory Hedgec0ck’s seventh career Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series win came aboard a #23 BMF Race Car powered by an Eagle Racing Engine with sponsorship in part from Lowery’s Wrecker Service, GB Roofing, Base Racing Fuel, Viper Motorsports, Chase Motorsports, Gutter Busters, B.E.L.L. Equipment, and King Risk Partners.
Round eighteen of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties drew 22 competitors to I-75 Raceway on Saturday evening. Cory Hedgec0ck stopped the clock in 13.910 seconds during MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps and 14.022 seconds during VP Racing Fuels qualifying, which were the fastest times on the board. The entire feature field was set solely through Group A & B qualifying.
Only three more events remain on the racing calendar for the SAS tour - each of them occurring during the month of October. The series will visit North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on Friday, October 9, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday, October 10, and Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina on Sunday, October 25.
After eighteen Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series shows so far in 2026, there have been fourteen different winners - Brandon Overton (3 victories), Tucker Anderson (3 victories), Chris Madden, Trae Kirk, Bo Slay, Sam Seawright, Shane Clanton, Michael Page, Jadon Frame, Zack Mitchell, Garrett Smith, Kaede Loudy, Dale McDowell, and Cory Hedgec0ck. Anderson currently sits atop of the SAS point standings by 138 markers over Kendall Franklin. Dillon Daves, Billy Franklin, and Will Hicks round out the top five in the latest version of the tour standings.
