Luke Cooper Keeps Rolling; Wins Third Straight with Red Clay Series at Winder-Barrow Speedway

(WINDER, GEORGIA) Red-hot Luke Cooper kept rolling on Saturday night, October 3 at Winder-Barrow Speedway, as the young Woodruff, South Carolina ace captured his third straight Schaeffer’s Oil by Mike Bruner Red Clay 602 Late Model Series victory! Luke swept the 'Roger Cooper Memorial' program at the Winder, Georgia oval by laying down the quickest time in both hot laps and qualifying before leading all thirty circuits in the headliner from the outside of the front row. He picked up the $2,700 first place prize money for his fourth overall win on the tour - all of which have come in the last five races.

After the feature had concluded, Luke’s #57 machine was protested and the engine was pulled by series officials. On Monday afternoon, the engine was torn down and inspected by an authorized builder and was deemed legal.

Finishing 1.157 seconds behind at the unfurling of the checkered flag was current series point leader Cass Fowler. Eighth-starting Chris Woods earned Hard Charger honors by blasting past a handful of competitors en route to a third place podium effort. Polesitter Cade Cagle slipped to a fourth place finish, while John Anderson started and finished in the fifth spot.

Next up for the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series competitors will be a visit to the “Place Your Momma Warned You About” on Saturday, October 10. The renowned Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina will play host to the ‘Robin Caldwell V8 Nationals’ and a $2,000 payday will be up for grabs for the 602 stars on Saturday. Dawson Lowe won the previous series visit to Cherokee Speedway back on June 20 when he beat a strong 28-car field. More information can be accessed online at www.cherokee-speedway.com.

In the sixteen series events completed so far in 2026, only Luke Cooper (4) and Dawson Lowe (2) have reached victory lane on more than one occasion. Single race winners include Wyatt Coffey, Cody Overton, Bryson Hickman, Nick Deitz, Chris Woods, Booger Brooks, Charles Devine, Pearson Lee Williams, Dale Timms, and Frankie Beard. Although he has not won yet with the tour this year, Cass Fowler currently sits atop of the latest point standings over Spencer Singleton, Luke Cooper, Dawson Lowe, and Jim Gray. At season’s end, only the best SIXTEEN point races for each driver will count towards the final standings.
