Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series to Crown a Champion on Sunday in $30,000 Blue Gray 100
(GAFFNEY, SOUTH CAROLINA) The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties is set to crown a champion on Sunday, October 25 at the renowned Cherokee Speedway! The final point race of the season for the SAS competitors will be the 36th edition of the ‘Blue Gray 100’ on Sunday at the storied Gaffney, South Carolina facility. The feature event will be 70 laps in length and will pay out a $30,000 first place prize out of a total purse that is nearly $80,000.
The SAS tour has visited Cherokee Speedway once already in 2026. In the co-sanctioned ‘March Madness’ event with the Spring Nationals Series back on March 21, “Smokey” Chris Madden topped a 31-car field to pocket the $20,053 winner’s check. Finishing behind Madden’s #44 machine in the rain-shortened main event was runner-up Zack Mitchell, Tucker Anderson, Brandon Overton, and Ben Watkins.
Things officially kick off at Cherokee Speedway on Saturday, October 24 with an open practice session. Gates will open at 4:30pm on Saturday and the practice session will run from 6:00pm-9:00pm. All cars are welcome and the only admission is into the pit area, as all adults will be admitted for $25.00.
Joining the Super Late Models in action on Sunday at the “Place Your Momma Warned You About” will be the Red Clay 602 Late Model Series ($2,000 to win), Pure Stock ($600 to win), Crown Vic ($600 to win), FWD Young Guns ($300 to win), and Crown Vic Young Guns ($300 to win). A second Pure Stock feature ($500 to win) will also be held from a rain-out that occurred on October 9. The pit gates will swing open at 1:00pm, while the grandstands will open an hour later at 2:00pm. The drivers meeting is set for 3:30pm and hot laps will light up the racetrack at 4:00pm.
Adult grandstand admission will be $30.00, while a pit pass for adults will be $50.00. Cherokee Speedway is located at 153 Speedway Road in Gaffney, South Carolina. After eighteen Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series shows so far in 2026, there have been fourteen different winners - Brandon Overton (3 victories), Tucker Anderson (3 victories), Chris Madden, Trae Kirk, Bo Slay, Sam Seawright, Shane Clanton, Michael Page, Jadon Frame, Zack Mitchell, Garrett Smith, Kaede Loudy, Dale McDowell, and Cory Hedgec0ck.
Tucker Anderson currently sits atop of the SAS point standings by 138 markers over Kendall Franklin. Dillon Daves, Billy Franklin, and Will Hicks round out the top five in the latest version of the tour standings. Each driver’s worst TWO finishes will be dropped following the ‘Blue Gray 100’ to determine the 2026 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Champion.
Super Late Model body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series - among others. Additional rules including engine and weight rules can be found online at www.sasdirt.com. The Super Late Model entry fee will be $170.00, while transponders will be available to rent.
