Pair of Top Tens for Dennis Erb Racing in Southeast; National 100 Weekend Ahead
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing dipped south to the states of Tennessee and South Carolina from October 22-24 for a trio of high-profile events. On Thursday night at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, a $20,000 top prize was up for grabs with the FloRacing Night in America Series. Dennis Erb, Jr. stopped the clock tenth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. During the course of the 50-lap feature, Dennis was able to pass seven competitors to leave “The Gap” with a solid eighth place showing.
The dirt-slinging competition then quickly turned to Modoc Speedway in Modoc, South Carolina for a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series shootouts. On Friday evening in night one of the ‘Modoc 100,’ Dennis ran fifth in his heat race and third in his B-Main prior to picking off thirteen cars during the $12,000 to win main event on his way to another eighth place effort. With a hefty $25,000 winner’s check on the line on Saturday, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace finished seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main before advancing to place twelfth in the final rundown of the 60-lapper. Full results from all three weekend races can be accessed online at www.floseries.com and www.woolms.com.
Next up for the #28 team will be the annual running of the ‘National 100’ on October 30-31 at East Alabama Motor Speedway. The unsanctioned doubleheader at the Phenix City, Alabama speedplant will kick off later this evening with a $10,000 to win headliner. Saturday’s finale at EAMS will then boast a $25,000 payday. Dennis, who is consistently a threat to win at the storied Alabama facility, will be looking for his second race title - having won the ‘National 100’ back in 2016.
