(Macon,IL) This Saturday night, the Weekend Warriors of the UMP Street Stock division will engage in wheel to wheel combat for bragging rights in the 8th annual "Illinois Street Stock Championship". The race is always a crowd favorite, as the "stock" racers bang fenders to be recognized as the king of the class on the 1/5 mile clay oval. All Street Stocks will get one lap around Mighty Macon in an attempt to break a three year old track record of 12:564 set by Mike Pickering in 2009. The top 6 qualifiers will lock into the possibly inverted Hoosier Dash. The finish of the dash will determine the starting order of the top 6 spots in the 25 lap slug-fest for the big trophy. Positions 7-20 will be set by qualifying heats. Car counts in this division have been healthy this season, and a great field is expected. The winner of last season's championship event was the #22 of Jeremy Nichols.
