    NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division June 17 Round Up

    CARTERSVILLE, GA – Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS was the big winner Saturday night in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division race at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS that was co-sanctioned by the Mississippi Street Stock Series. Whittington drove the Ergon Chevrolet to the $1,000 victory.

    Trey Bright of Coker, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings despite taking on a Utility Tire on the inside edge of Magnolia Motor Speedway and lost. Bright finished 22nd in the AKA Cores Chevrolet, but still leads the standings by six points over Dave Nations of Raymond, MS, who finished fourth at The Mag.

    Bright has 526 points after five wins, ten top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races. Nations has 520 points after one win, eight top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 12 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division starts driving the Street Stock Set Up Specialists Chevrolet powered by a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

    Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL, who led the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings earlier this season used a sixth-place finish in Saturday night’s race at The Mag driving the Bass Sports Online Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine to stay in the Championship hunt. Spears is third in the standings with 507 points after four wins, mine top five finishes, and 11 top ten finishes in 12 races.

    Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is fourth with 440 points after three top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 13 races driving the Medders Construction Chevrolet. Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is fifth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 423 points after four top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in ten starts driving the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet powered by a 602 Crate Engine.

    Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS holds down the sixth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 404 points after six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 11 races driving the Hiers Construction Chevrolet.

    Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS walked away from a spectacular series of flips in Friday night heat race action at The Mag, but remains seventh in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 373 points. Herron has one win, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in 10 starts driving the S&B Contracting Chevrolet.

    Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS and Jarrod Fremin of Montz, LA are tied for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 336 points apiece. Willis has one win, six top five finishes, and nine top ten finishes in 10 races driving the Willis Racing Chevrolet. Fremin has one win, four top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races in the Fremin Racing Chevrolet.

    Charles Coan of Danville, AL rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 335 points. Coan has six top ten finishes in eight starts driving the Coan Racing Chevrolet.

    In other NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 12 action, Rocky DeGruy of Denham Springs, LA picked up two wins driving the Westside Oil Recovery Buick. DeGruy took a 50-point win on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and followed that up with a 40-point win on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.

    Keith Coan of Town Creek, AL drove the Bishop Body Shop Chevrolet to his first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL.

    The first ever NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division race held at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL was won by Greg Chumley of Attalla, AL in the Vinson Race Engines Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

    A total of 178 different drivers have earned points in the first 12 weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.
