(Wilson, North Carolina) – Officials from the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts are pleased to announce details on the ground breaking event for it's new “Southern Touring Division†coming in 2015. The much anticipated Southern Region has continued to gain steam since its announcement last month as fans and drivers can now begin the countdown to it's kick off this February in Georgia. Although still smack dab in the middle of their current 2014 Renegade of Dirt Touring season Cody Watson and Steve Summerlin have already set the ball into motion for what’s to come in 2015 and the first piece of that puzzle and the lucrative inaugural Southern schedule is ready to be unveiled. We are very excited to announce that the official kick-off to the Inaugural Renegades of Dirt Southern Regional Tour will be at “WINTER FREEZE Vâ€, February 5th – 7th, 2015 at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia.
The “WINTER FREEZE V†event will consist of three nights of exciting Renegades of Dirt modified action with Thursday February 5th and Friday February 6th paying $1,500 to the winner and also guaranteeing two provisional spots in Saturday's main events. It will then culminate to a Saturday blockbuster finale event paying $4,000 to the winner on February 7th. The Screven Motor Speedway “WINTER FREEZE V†will be a huge racing weekend to officially set the tone for the annual “Speedweeks†before racers, teams, and race fans venture to the 'Sunshine State' of Florida.
The “WINTER FREEZE V†weekend will officially be the first three races for the Renegades of Dirt Southern Tour which will award valuable points to the all-new regional championship. It is expected that many of the Renegades of Dirt Northern Tour drivers will bet migrate down to the 3/8th mile Georgia clay as well to shake off the cold Northeastern winter weather. In addition to the Renegades of Dirt Modified Southern Tour kicking off 2015 at Screven Motor Speedway, “WINTER FREEZE V†will also feature the Super Late Models as well as the Crate Late Models as in years past.
“When your getting all positive feedback from fans and racers you take notice and take part†stated veteran promoter James “Redd†Griffin of Screven Motor Speedway. “The buzz is absolutely fantastic about this series and I felt it was the right fit for our fifth annual “Winter Freeze Vâ€, added Griffin. To have them making history with their series debut in Georgia and at our facility it only adds further excitement†concluded Griffin.
“I am extremely excited to launch the Renegades of Dirt South at Screven, the hype has been building for this NEW modified series in the Southeast Mid-Atlantic United States since the June 5th announcement,†states RoDT South manager, Steve Summerlin. “We feel like it’s going to be more highly anticipated for these events then to have an exhibition race in 2014 and it fits our goals for the tour opener in 2015. James Griffin has been in contact with me since the announcement and after the Wythe Raceway buzz the certainty of being a part of WINTER FREEZE V in February 2015 came to fruition. Screven Motor Speedway fans should know that the Winter Freeze is about to heat up as we get set to bring them the Renegades of Dirt Southern Region†concluded Summerlin.
