Mike Mataragas Tops Sycamore Once Again
DeKalb, Illinois (05/30/17) –Mike Mataragas celebrated Memorial Day weekend 2017 by powering his Mike Kors Motorsports #1 Southlake Auto Mall/ Rocket Chassis/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model to his second win of the season.
Mike returned to his home track, Sycamore Speedway (Maple Park, Illinois) on Saturday night for a Memorial Day weekend special event. After laying down the fastest time in qualifying, Mataragas won his heat race on a last lap pass, which locked him into a front-row, starting spot for the feature. Taking the lead on the opening lap of the finale, Mike never relinquished the top spot en route to scoring his second win of the season.
“It felt good to get back to Victory Lane on Saturday night at Sycamore Speedway,†Mataragas noted. “Our team is working really hard in the shop and at the track, so it’s nice to have another win to show for it. We’ll now turn our focus into have a strong outing at Eldora in two weeks.â€

Mataragas will not race anywhere this weekend as he prepares to enter the 23rd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on June 8-10. The weekend starts with twin $5,000-to-win features on Thursday evening, while Friday night will be headlined by twin $10,000-to-win events.
