Dustin Strand Streaks to Memorial Day Weekend Wins

Grand Forks, North Dakota (05/30/17) – Dustin Strand kicked his season into high gear over the course of the Memorial Day weekend by winning feature events in both his RealTruck.com #71 Bemidji Welder’s Supply/ Millenium SRT Modified and his RH Rebel Storage #71 Schill Construction/ Millenium SRT Late Model.

“The month of May started off slowly, but we are able to close it with a bang with a pair of wins,” Strand said. “We have great cars, great sponsors, and a great team, it was just a matter of catching a few breaks. Hopefully this will give us the momentum that we need as the season kicks into high gear.”

Dustin Strand was back in action on Friday night at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) – kicking off the busy Memorial Day Weekend competing against a field of 16 Super Late Models. Jumping up three positions in his heat race, Strand registered a 3rd-place finish locking him into the 2nd-starting spot for the feature. Taking the lead on the drop of the green flag, Dustin led every circuit of the 20-lapper en route to his first Super Late Model victory of the season, topping Mike Balcaen, Zach Naastad, Ryan Corbett, and Brad Seng at the finish line.

The following night brought Strand to Greenbush Race Park (Greenbush, Minnesota), where he was in action behind the wheel of his Open Wheel Modified. In a field of 21 cars, Dustin registered a 3rd-place finish in his heat race, positioning him 9th on the starting grid for the feature. Wheeling his way into a podium spot within the first 10 laps, Strand overtook the 2nd position on lap 14.

Battling in lap traffic in the closing laps, Dustin Strand grabbed the top spot from Ward Imrie with two circuits remaining. Holding off a last lap charge from Imrie, Strand captured his second win of the weekend and third overall on the season. Imrie, Jerome Guyot, Aaron Holtan, and Gavin Paul completed the Top 5 finishers.
