Dyersburg, Tennessee (05/31/17) – Jim Seratt Racing with drivers, Preston Seratt and Ashley Newman, entered a pair of events over the course of the Memorial Day weekend and came away with solid finishes to show for their efforts.
On Friday night Jim Seratt Racing invaded Clayhill Speedway (Atwood, Tennessee) for the two-day Memorial Day Weekend special. Preston Seratt started the night with a heat race win in his J&P Machine Repair #29 MBR Chassis/ Mullins Race Engines Modified, locking him into the pole position for the feature. Ashley Newman finished 2nd in his heat race in his DC Electric Rebuilders #73 MBR Chassis/ Mullins Race Engines Modified, securing his spot into the A-Main.
With both pilots coming home in a podium spot, Seratt slipped one position to finish 2nd behind Matt Cooper, while Ashley rounded out the Top 3 with a 3rd-place finish.
After two nights off, Preston and Ashley returned to Clayhill Speedway on Monday for the USCS Modified sanctioned contest. Passing three cars in his heat race, Seratt scored another heat race win, locking him into the dash.
Ashley secured his spot into the dash after passing six cars in his heat to place 2nd. Following a 1-2 finish in the USCS Mod Dash with Preston winning, both Jim Seratt Racing pilots covered the front row for the feature. After swapping the lead back in forth in the opening laps, Preston Seratt overtook the top spot until a red flag late in the race halted the action. Once the red flag was lifted, Seratt lost all of his momentum while his teammate charged to the front, reeling in his third win of the season over Kyle Beard, Lucas Lee, and Matt Cooper while Preston hung on to finish 5th.
