Michael Arnold and Henderson Motorsports Visit Victory Lane at Hattiesburg
Laurel, Mississippi (07/31/17) – Michael Arnold registered a couple of career firsts on Friday night. Not only did he get his first win with Henderson Motorsports, but the 26-year-old racer also notched his first win with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS).
The victory came aboard the L&D Trucking #10 Billy Moyer Victory Race Car/ Cornett Thunder Racing Engine Super Late Model.
“This is all a dream come true,†Arnold said. “When the Henderson family approached me about driving this car earlier this season, I just couldn’t believe it. This is an amazing opportunity and to be able to give them this win really means a lot. To get the victory at my home track makes it that much more special.â€
Piloting the L&D Trucking #10 Super Late Model, Michael Arnold invaded Hattiesburg Speedway (Hattiesburg, Mississippi) on Friday evening to compete against a field of 20 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) entries. After laying down the fastest time in qualifying, Arnold earned the pole position for the A-Main via a win in the Dash.
Building a comfortable lead late in the feature, Michael cruised to his first win of the season and his first with the series. Billy Franklin, David Breazeale, Rick Rickman, and Nick Thrash completed the Top-5.
Arnold pocketed a $2,000 payday for his dominant performance in the feature event.
Saturday found 19 MSCCS followers in action at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) as they did battle for the $2,500 top prize. Earning the 4th-starting position for the feature after being fourth fastest in time trials, Arnold improved one spot in the main event to place 3rd behind Garrett Alberson and Brian Rickman with Chad Thrash and Chandler Petty completing the Top-5 finishers.
