Dennis Erb Racing Shoots for Another Thaw Brawl Title this Weekend at LaSalle!
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team ventured south to Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia and East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on March 23-24 for a pair of $12,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs. On Friday night in the annual 'Shamrock' at Boyd's, Dennis Erb, Jr. finished seventh in his heat race and eighth in his B-Main, but later utilized a series emergency provisional to gain access into the 50-lap main event. During the course of the caution-free affair, Dennis tried to move forward before settling for a twenty-fifth place performance at the Chattanooga-area facility.
The cars and stars of the national touring series then rolled into EAMS on Saturday evening for the 'Bama Bash,' which also paid out $12,000 to the victor. Dennis placed fifth in his heat race before grabbing the second transfer spot through his B-Main. Despite drawing a lap 36 caution due to a flat Hoosier tire from contact from another competitor, Dennis was able to move up to finish sixteenth in the 50-lapper. The Carpentersville, Illinois native currently finds himself fifteenth in the ultra-tight Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings. Complete results from the LOLMDS double-dip can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.
With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series taking the Easter holiday weekend off from competition, Dennis will seize the opportunity to race closer to home on March 30-31 at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. The 7th edition of the ‘Thaw Brawl’ will be held this weekend at the 1/4-mile Land of Lincoln bullring. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series will lift the lid to their season by sanctioning a pair of lucrative races paying $5,000 to win on Friday night and $15,000 to the winner in Saturday’s 75-lap grand finale. Dennis has emerged victorious several times during the ‘Thaw Brawl’ weekend including capturing the $15,000 top prize back in 2014.
