Logan Roberson Sweeps Weekend Action
Potomac Speedway and Winchester Speedway on Tap this Weekend
Waynesboro, Virginia (04/03/18) – Logan Roberson doubled down in Victory Lane over the weekend in his Wynbridge Inc. #17 BTS Towing Service/ XR1 Rocket Chassis Late Model.
The Virginia driver got off to a fast start in his pursuit of a repeat as the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Weekly Late Model Champion with wins at Potomac Speedway and Winchester Speedway.
“All of our hard work finally paid off,†a relieved Roberson said. “The start to this year has been far from what we wanted or expected, especially after the big year we had last season. However, none of us gave up and just kept digging. I want to thank my family, friends, fans, and sponsors for their never-ending support.â€
Logan Roberson invaded Potomac Speedway (Budds Creek, Maryland) on Friday night, where he was piloting his Wynbridge Inc. #17 entry in the RUSH Crate Late Model opener. Earning the second-starting position for the feature, Roberson jumped into the lead on the opening lap and led wire-to-wire en route to his first win of the season. Chuck Bowie, Darin Henderson, Jamie Sutphin, and Kerry King trailed Logan to the checkers in the 20-lap affair.
The following night took Logan to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia), where he competed against a stout field of 27 Rush Crate Late Model entries. Passing seven cars in his heat, Roberson streaked to a heat race win, locking his spot into the main event.
Receiving the outside-front-row starting position for the feature after the redraw, Logan took the lead at the drop of the green flag and held the top spot for the entire distance, topping Chuck Bowie, Joe Warren, Richard Hawkins, and Darin Henderson at the finish line. His 20-lap dominate victory marked his second of the weekend and second of the season.
