Jeep Van Wormer Scheduled for Weekend Off Following Trip to Eldora Speedway

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and his Iron Motorsports team traveled to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday evening, April 28 for an American Late Model Series (ALMS) throwdown. Jeep posted the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session before placing second in heat race action.

The Pinconning, Michigan hotshoe, who closed out his 2017 campaign with a victory at the storied 1/2-mile speedplant, then rolled off from the outside of the third row in the $5,000 to win headliner and immediately felt like he had a car capable of competing for the win in the 25-lap sprint. Unfortunately while battling inside of the top five early in the distance, Jeep got into the backstretch wall and was done for the night - relegating him to a disappointing twenty-third place performance. Full results from the "Big E" can be viewed online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

The #55 team will take the upcoming May 4-5 weekend off from racing action. Jeep is unsure when and where he will race after that, but it may be as soon as May 11-12.
