Dennis Erb Racing Follows Lucas Oil Tour to Tazewell and Florence this Weekend

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team were able to race a little closer to home on April 27-28, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned a pair of $12,000 to win shootouts at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. On Friday night in the 'Busch 50' at Granite City, Dennis qualified fourteenth fastest in Group A before grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then started the 50-lapper from the inside of the eighth row and eventually wound up recording a nineteenth place performance at the St. Louis area venue.

At the 1/5-mile Macon oval on Saturday evening, the annual running of the 'St. Louis U-Pic-A-Part 100' was held and another $12,000 top prize was on the line. Dennis knocked down the eighteenth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session before advancing up to third in his heat race. Dennis then drove up inside of the top five during the 100-lap, extra-distance affair, but slipped back to thirteenth at the unfurling of the checkered flag. He now sits thirteenth in the current version of the LOLMDS point standings following the doubleheader in the Land of Lincoln. Full results can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Two more Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles will await the Dennis Erb Racing team on May 4-5 in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. The bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee will greet the national touring stars on Friday night for the ‘Toyota Knoxville 50,’ while Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky will do the same on Saturday evening for the 32nd Annual ‘Ralph Latham Memorial.’ Both single-day shows will be headlined by 50-lap main events with each winner receiving $12,000 for his efforts. Additional information on the doubleheader weekend can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

In other news, Dennis has officially registered for the ‘Dirt Million’ on August 24-25 at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio.
