Scott Bloomquist Wins Record-Setting Sixth Lucas Oil Show Me 100
Advances to Second in LOLMDS Standings
Mooresburg, Tennessee (05/30/18) – Entering the weekend Scott Bloomquist had five Lucas Oil Show Me 100 titles to his credit. Despite his storied history in the event, all of his wins in the crown jewel had come at West Plains Motor Speedway. Since the 2010 relocation of the event to Lucas Oil Speedway he had been unable to add another title.
Bloomquist changed all that on Saturday night in his Reece Monuments #0 Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model as he claimed the $30,000 check during the 26th running of the event, which marked an unprecedented sixth event title.
Scott took control of the lead on lap 70 and went on to cruise to the victory by more than three seconds.
"We weren't as good as I wanted to be. Jimmy [Owens] was pretty good there. I really didn't see exactly what happened to him. That was unfortunate for him. We were starting to put a little pressure on him. We were trying to find the groove that would work best. It probably would have been a good race at the end."
"It's always better with a clear view of the track. You really aren't watching what he is doing. When you have a guy in front of you, you are always looking for a way around him. You have just got to keep on trying a different line. We could move around quite bit at the end of the race. This place has been elusive to us so it’s a great feeling to finally win a Show Me 100 here. A lot of great people and sponsors made this win possible and I really appreciate everyone’s support."
Scott started outside front row for the 100-lap, $30,000-to-win finale at the state-of-the-art facility. He pursued Jimmy Owens for the lead until lap 15, when he took the top spot. Bloomquist led the field until lap 23 when Owens regained the top spot.
Owens paced the field until lap 69, when contact with a lapped car ended his run. Bloomquist inherited the lead and over the remainder of the race drove away from the field to score the win by over three seconds.
The win was his sixth of the year and the 597th of his career.
Brian Shirley, Mike Marlar, Bobby Pierce, and Chris Simpson completed the Top-5 finishers.
Scott started his Lucas Oil Show Me 100 weekend with a $6,000 win in the 5th annual Cowboy Classic on Thursday night.
After a tumultuous start to the Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson on Friday night, Scott rebounded to advance 17 positions to a third-place finish.

Scott currently plans to take a break from racing this weekend as he prepares for the upcoming Dirt Late Model Dream XXIV at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Tennessee).
