Dennis Erb Racing Embarks on Hectic Schedule Starting Tonight at LaSalle!
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing entered a pair of UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdowns on June 22-23 in their home state of Illinois. On Friday night at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Dennis Erb, Jr. posted the fourth quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session before running second in his loaded heat race. Dennis then started $10,000 to win headliner from the inside of the fourth row, but was unfortunately an early retiree from the rugged racing surface. He was relegated to a seventeenth place performance in the attrition-filled contest at the St. Louis-area facility.
Another $10,000 top prize was on the line for the cars and stars racing with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour on Saturday evening at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois. Dennis knocked down the seventh fastest lap in Group A during time trials at FALS prior to picking up a heat race triumph. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then ran as high as second in the 50-lapper until overheating woes late in the distance caused Dennis to slip back to seventh in the final finishing order. The #28 team is about ready to embark on one of their busiest stretches of the 2018 racing season, as they are scheduled to race nine times at nine different venues in six different states in the course of the next ten days (June 28-July 7). Things will kick off later tonight at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois with a $5,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals show, while Friday will take the team to Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana for a $10,000 to win program co-sanctioned by the “Hell Tour†and the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series.
From there, Dennis will jump back on the ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule for four huge events in the Buckeye State of Ohio. A $12,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs on Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio, on Sunday at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, on Monday at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, and on Tuesday at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. Dennis comes into the hectic stretch thirteenth in the latest version of the heated LOLMDS point standings. You can watch him sling dirt at the following locations from June 28-July 7.
