Austin Hubbard Bags $8,200 for Bedford Win
Set to Invade Bridgeport Speedway on Wednesday

Seaford, Delaware (07/17/18) – Austin Hubbard parked his Mid-Coastal Siding #11 Trinity Logistics/ Rocket XR1 Chassis/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model for the first time in 2018 with an $8,200 victory at Bedford Speedway.

Friday night found Austin Hubbard in action at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania) as he focused on claiming the top prize in the 82nd annual Billy Winn Classic. Drawing 39 Super Late Models for the unsanctioned event, Hubbard followed up the fastest-time overall in qualifying with a runner-up finish in his heat race.

Receiving the sixth-starting position for the feature after the redraw, Austin inherited the lead on lap-45 when the leader, Alex Ferree, relinquished the top spot with a flat right-rear tire. Hubbard paced the final five circuits to score his first win of the year. Jeff Rine, Tyler Bare, Ross Robinson, and Walker Arthur followed him across the finish line.

He was awarded an $8,200 payday for his performance in the 50-lap affair.

“I’ve been on the other side more times than this side before. It’s definitely enjoyable,” Hubbard said. “Sucks for (Alex), though. You got to take the good with the bad. I can’t ever remember a time where the luck fell into my hand like that … $8,200 is awesome to win. I kind of lucked into it, because Alex was really good. But it wasn’t handed to us by any means. I say we were the best car here tonight from the beginning, I felt like.

“It’s been a tough year for me and my team, and it feels good to finally park this hot rod in Victory Lane. Thanks to them and everybody that supports my program.”

Hubbard will carry his momentum into action this Wednesday night with a trip to Bridgeport Speedway (Bridgeport, New Jersey), where he’ll compete in the Three For All event, which will be headlined by a $3,000-to-win event. On Friday night he’s scheduled to compete in a $2,700-to-win event at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Delaware).
