Jeff Taylor Doubles Down in Southwest Speedway Victory Lane
28th Annual North Dakota Governor’s Cup on Deck for this Weekend
Cave City, Arkansas (07/25/18) – Jeff Taylor soared to a pair of wins over the weekend in the Industrial Electric #75 Spencer Wilson Motorsports/ Wilson Farms/ Taylor Race Car Modified.
The victories came at North Dakota’s Southwest Speedway and increased his 2018-wn tally to eight.
“We didn’t have the runs that I would’ve like to have had on the Dakotah Classic Modified Tour, but we were able to bounce back over the weekend with a pair of wins,†Taylor noted. “I greatly appreciate Spencer Wilson for letting me drive his car. We’re going to try and pick up two more wins this coming weekend in the Governor’s Cup.â€
On Friday Jeff Taylor returned to Dacotah Speedway (Mandan, North Dakota), where he entered a Weekly Racing Series Event. In a field of 29 cars, Taylor locked his spot into the A-Main with a fifth-place finish in his heat race.
Starting in the 14th position on the feature grid, Jeff advanced through the field 11 positions to place third behind Quentin Kinzley, and Tom Berry Jr. with Marcus Tomlinson and Jeremy Keller completing the Top-5 finishers.
The following night brought Taylor to Southwest Speedway ((not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)inson, South Dakota), where he was competing in a field of 23 Open Wheel Modifieds for the Wissota Race of Champions. Passing six cars in his heat, Taylor streaked to an 8-lap heat race win, positioning him ninth on the starting grid for the feature. Wheeling his way to the front, Jeff topped Dan Aune, Travis Olheiser, Josh Jones, and Spencer Wilson at the line to pick up his seventh win of the season.
Returning on Sunday for a make-up race from a June 2nd rainout, Taylor jumped up five spots in his heat race to record a third-place finish. After getting sent to the tail of the field on the third lap the feature, Jeff Taylor rebounded to charge through the pack en route to his second straight victory and eighth on the season.
Justin Bieber, Dan Aune, Travis Ulmer, and Shawn Strand completed the Top-5 finishers.

Taylor’s northern invasion continues this weekend – July 27-28 – with the 28th annual North Dakota Governor’s Cup at Dacotah Speedway. Jeff will again be behind the wheel of Spencer Wilson’s #75. A complete IMCA Modified program will be held each day.
