Ray Cook Nabs Top Ten in Ultimate Visit to Senoia Raceway
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The Wynn Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook rolled into the gray gumbo at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia on Saturday evening, August 25. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over the dirt-slinging action, which culminated in a $4,000 to win main event.
Ray laid down the eighth quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later picked up the victory in his consolation event. After starting the 40-lap feature from the inside of the sixth row, Ray was able to move up inside of the top ten to eventually nab a respectable tenth place performance. At this time, Ray is scheduled to take the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend off from racing competition. The #53 team is awaiting the return of a motor and chances are it won’t be done by the weekend. Ray will be busy with promoting duties on Monday, September 3; however, as the annual ‘Labor Day Championship’ will be held at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina. Elevated purses for eight different divisions will highlight the racing action at the 1/4-mile bullring plus Faster Pastor races and a huge fireworks extravaganza.
