Tyler Millwood Is the Boss in Rome Speedway Action
Races to First Super Late Model Win at High-Speed, Georgia Oval
Kingston, Georgia (09/05/18) – Sunday night found Tyler Millwood streaking to his second win of 2018 in his Millwood Plumbing #31 Barry Wright Icon by Madden/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.
The triumph came in the annual Rome Boss at Georgia’s Rome Speedway, and marked his first Super Late Model win at the lightning-fast facility.
“It felt awesome to finally get a Super Late Model win at Rome. We won in the Crate Late Model there, but never in the Super Late Model before Sunday night,†Millwood noted. “We had a good car on Saturday night, but just not quite good enough to get to the front. Sunday night at Rome, we hit the ground running. I had my hands full with Riley (Hickman) early, but was able to get back the lead and ultimatley the win. Thanks to my family, my crew, my sponsors, and all of the fans for their awesome support!â€
Tyler Millwood invaded Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) on Saturday night to do battle for the $3,000 top prize. Falling two spots shy of a Top-5 finish in the 30-lap feature, Millwood posted a seventh-place finish.
The following night at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia) for the storied Rome Boss, Millwood laid down the fastest-time overall in qualifying, which positioned him on the pole for the feature.
After losing the top spot early to Riley Hickman, Tyler regained the lead on lap-11. Pacing the field for the remaining 29 circuits, Millwood topped Jason Croft, Dalton Polston, Robert Gant, and Ashton Winger at the line to capture his second win of the season and a $3,000 payday.
