Ray Cook Advances into Dixie Shootout; Prepares for Lake Cumberland Classic

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the Wynn Motorsports team invaded the historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, September 29 for the annual running of the 'Dixie Shootout.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the storied race, which drew 44 entrants to the Atlanta-area facility to vie for the $12,000 winner's check.

Ray knocked down the tenth quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session prior to finishing fifth in his stacked heat race. Following a triumph in his B-Main, Ray rolled off from the inside of the ninth row in the 50-lap headliner. With passing at a premium especially after the halfway mark in the 'Dixie Shootout,' the Brasstown, North Carolina ace advanced all the way up to tenth before eventually winding up right where he started... in the seventeenth position. Complete results from Dixie Speedway can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The #53 team will trek north to Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, Kentucky this upcoming weekend (October 5-6) for the two-day ‘Lake Cumberland Classic.’ The MARS Super Late Model Series, Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series, and Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series will tri-sanction the doubleheader weekend in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the action gets underway with a $3,000 to win program on Friday night. Things will wrap up in the ‘Lake Cumberland Classic’ on Saturday evening with a $5,000 to win finale. Ray has already made one trip to Lake Cumberland Speedway in 2018, as he finished ninth back in June in the ‘Johnny Wheeler Memorial.’ Additional information can be viewed by clicking on www.lcspeedway.net.
