Earl Pearson Jr. Surges to Top-10 Finish in Dirt Track World Championship
Southern Invasion this Weekend for 24th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic

Shreveport, Louisiana (10/24/18) – Earl Pearson Jr. put a wrap on the 2018 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season over the weekend in his Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil #1 P&W Sales/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. He claimed a Top-10 finish in the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship, and with the performance secured the fourth position in the final LOLMDS standings.

“It would’ve been nice to end the Lucas Oil season with a win, but we’ll take a Top 10 – especially after the way that the weekend started,” Pearson Jr. said. “What a first season for this Black Diamond Racecars Team. There were some doubters out there, when we announced the new team, but I think we proved them all wrong. We’ve had a great season, and I’m really proud to have finished fourth. With what we learned this year and the pieces we have in place, I’m confident that we can make a run at the championship next year.

“Thanks so much to all of the sponsors and fans who support our program. It means a lot to our whole team.”

On Friday night Earl Pearson Jr. was one of 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors on hand at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship.

Finishing fifth in both rounds of his heat races, Pearson Jr. retired early from his B-Main and relied on a series’ provisional starting spot for the $100,000-to-win finale. With Mother Nature moving Saturday’s finale to Sunday afternoon, Earl Pearson Jr. passed 13 cars in the 100-lap affair to record an eighth-place finish.

Earl finished fourth in the final Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) point standings. For more results from this event, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .

While the team’s LOLMDS season might be over, they are still focused on winning races. This weekend – October 27-28 – the Black Diamond Racecar Team will travel to Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi), where they’ll enter the 24th annual Coors Light Fall Classic. The unsanctioned event pays $15,000 to the winner.
