Brandon Overton Bags Podium Finish in DTWC Finale
All Three Team Drivers Head to Whynot this Weekend
Calera, AL (10/24/18) – Sunday afternoon found Brandon Overton enjoying another great run in a late-season, crown jewel event in his Franklin Fence & Erosion Control #76 BCI Asphalt/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. He ran in the Top 5 for the second half of the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship before ultimately registering a third-place finish.
“If we can finish them (crown jewel events), we kind of find our way to the front,†Overton said following his podium finish on Sunday afternoon at Portsmouth Raceway Park. “All in all, it was a good weekend. I’m sure most of us would have liked to have got it in (Saturday) night. I think we had a really good car for last night’s conditions. It wasn’t too bad today, just kind of took me a little too long to get toward the front. Then I kind of calmed down right there through the middle stages and a couple of them got back by me. So, then I had to kind of hustle it back again. But the car was really good. I guess it’s the best you can ask for daytime racing.â€
On Friday afternoon Brandon Overton and Franklin Enterprises made the trip to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship.
With 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries registered for the two-day event, Overton followed up a sixth-place finish in his first heat with a heat race victory in the second round. With Mother Nature shifting Saturday’s feature to Sunday, Brandon earned the 11th-starting position for the $100,000-to-win main event.
Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Brandon Overton gained eight spots in the 100-lapper, notching a third-place finish behind Josh Richards and Jonathan Davenport with Brandon Sheppard and Zack Dohm completing the Top-5 finishers.

This Friday and Saturday will find both all three Franklin Enterprises drivers, Billy Franklin, David Breazeale and Brandon Overton in action as they thunder into Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) to compete in the 24th annual Coors Light Fall Classic. The unsanctioned event pays $15,000-to-win. Breazeale topped the event in 2016.
