Ben Schaller Dominates I-80 Late Model Action for Second Win of 2019
Ninth Annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals Weekend Next

Omaha, NE (07/15/19) – Ben Schaller made a clean sweep of Friday night’s NASCAR Weekly Racing Series program at I-80 Speedway in his Fleetmark Solutions No. 98 Hinze Chiropractic/ MB Customs/ Schaller Racing Engines & Shocks Super Late Model.

The win was his second of the season and tightens the battle for the track’s championship.

“Friday night was big for our team. It allowed us to climb closer to the top of the battle for the track championship. We’re currently fourth in the standings, but only 10 points out of the lead. It’s also cool to be the first Late Model driver to win multiple features at I-80 this year,” Schaller continued. “We weren’t bad with the Malvern Bank SLMRS last week, but on the same note we could’ve been a little better. Hopefully we can make up some ground at I-80 this Thursday.”

Ben’s week came to life on Wednesday as the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series (MBSLMRS) competed at Boone County Raceway (Albion, Nebraska). Schaller started seventh in the feature and ran in the Top 10 throughout the 25-lap, $2,000-to-win finale before crossing the finish line in the seventh position.

After a break on Thursday evening, the team was back to the grind on Friday night with a NASCAR Weekly Series event at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska). Ben’s night started with a win in his heat race, which positioned him in the outside-front-row, starting spot in the feature.

Schaller grabbed the lead at the drop of the flag and never looked back on his way to his second victory of 2019. Brian Kosiski, Bill Leighton, Josh Krug and Josh Leonard completed the Top-5 finishers.

On Saturday night he returned to MBSLMRS competition with a trip to Shelby County Speedway (Harlan, Iowa), where a $2,000 winner’s check was on the line. After starting 14th in the feature, Schaller worked his way to a 12th-place finish.

Ben is currently fourth in the latest MBSLMRS point standings. For more results from these events as well as the latest series standings, please visit www.SLMRSeries.com .

The upcoming weekend will be a busy time for Schaller Racing as they prepare to enter the ninth annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska). On Thursday night the team will pull double duty in a $5,300-to-win, SLMRS program as well as a $10,000-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event.

Then on Friday and Saturday, Schaller Racing’s sole focus will be the $53,000-to-win, Silver Dollar Nationals with the LOLMDS.
