Consistent Week for Dennis Erb, Jr. Nets Pair of WOOLMS Top Fives; I-80 Next

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Following a seventh place effort to start his hectic week on Monday, July 8 in a $10,000 to win DIRTcar Summer Nationals make-up feature at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois, Dennis Erb, Jr. returned to the Upper Midwest to compete in four more World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series contests - all of which boasted a $10,000 top prize. On Tuesday evening, July 9 at ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin, Dennis ran fourth in his loaded heat race prior to moving up to ninth in the 50-lap main event, which was delayed on lap 18 by rain and completed with no further issues. At River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Friday, July 12, Dennis placed second in his heat race and later blasted up to third in the 50-lapper to land on the podium behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard and runner-up Ricky Weiss!

The Dennis Erb Racing team then made the overnight haul to Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota on Saturday night, July 13 for another $10,000 to win points battle. Dennis finished fourth in heat race action, started tenth on the grid in the 50-lap headliner, and later worked his way past six competitors en route to a strong fourth place performance behind only victor Shane Clanton, Brandon Sheppard, and Jimmy Mars. The busy week then wrapped up on Sunday, July 14 with a visit to Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his stacked heat race and once again steered forward in the 50-lap feature to bag a sixth place showing. Dennis still finds himself sixth in the latest WOOLMS point standings exiting the week in the Upper Midwest. Full results from each of these five races can be accessed online at www.thehelltour.com and www.woolms.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be their annual trip to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska for the 9th edition of the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the crown jewel weekend in the Cornhusker State, which kicks off later tonight, July 18 with the $12,000 to win ‘Malvern Bank Go 50.’ Two thrilling rounds of preliminary heat races will then take place on Friday, July 19 to help set the stage for Saturday’s huge ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ finale. The consolation events, the $3,000 to win non-qualifiers race, and the 80-lap headliner, which will pay a whopping $53,000 to the winner, are all slated to help cap off the weekend on Saturday, July 20. Dennis has been a part of the last six ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ main events with his best finish of ninth coming back in 2013. More information can be read online at www.lucasdirt.com.
