Tyler Bruening Emerges Victorious in Malvern Bank 35
Returns to Action on Wednesday Evening at Fayette County Speedway
Decorah, Iowa (7/23/19) – Tyler Bruening pocketed $5,300 for his Thursday night victory with the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series (SLMRS) at I-80 Speedway in his Skyline Motorsports No. 16 Bennett Explosives/ Bruening Rock Products/ Capital Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine entry.
The win marked his sixth of the season.
“Even though I’d liked to have had better finishes in the Lucas Oil features, it was still a great weekend for our team,†Bruening said. “Anytime you can beat Kyle Berck anywhere, much less I-80 Speedway, you’ve done something, and I was able to get the job done Thursday night. We battled a tight condition in the Lucas Oil car throughout the weekend, but we learned a lot racing with such a high-caliber of competition.
“The plan is to head to Fayette County Speedway with the Deery Brothers Series this Wednesday night, where we’ll try our best to win the $2,000 top prize.â€
On Thursday evening Tyler Bruening visited I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Nebraska), where he was puling double duty with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series (SLMRS) during the ninth annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals opener.
In SLMRS action, Tyler scored an 8-lap, heat race victory, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the feature. Overtaking race-leader Kyle Berck for the top spot on lap 26, Bruening went on to lead the final nine laps as he cruised to his sixth win of the season. Berck, Tad Pospisil, Josh Leonard, and Ben Schaller completed the Top-5 finishers. Bruening pocketed a $5,300 payday for his performance.
In a field of 45 LOLMDS entries, Bruening locked his spot into the opening night $12,000-to-win A-Main with a heat race victory. Starting in the pole position, Tyler led the first circuit, but ultimately slipped back to a 16th-place finish in the 50-lap affair as he battled a tight racecar.
Returning on Friday afternoon for the preliminary events for the two-day Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals, Bruening recorded a pair of third-place finishes in his two heat races, which locked him into the seventh-starting spot for the finale on Saturday evening. With $53,000 on the line, Tyler Bruening raced in the Top 10 early in the feature before ultimately registering a 23rd-place finish.

The team now prepares to return to action on Wednesday night with a trip to Fayette County Speedway (West Union, Iowa) for an IMCA Deery Brothers Late Model event. The race posts a $2,000 top prize.
