Shane Clanton Wires WoO Field at Outlaw
Billy Clanton Classic Up Next for the “Georgia Bulldogâ€
Zebulon, Georgia (09/23/19) – Shane Clanton increased his 2019-win tally to eight on Friday night with a $10,000 World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series triumph in his Skyline Motorsports No. 25 Bennett Explosives/ Super K Express/ Capital Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. The victory came at New York’s Outlaw Speedway and allowed him to climb to second in the latest series’ standings.
“You couldn’t have scripted a better night for our team than we had on Friday night. We set fast time, we won our heat race, and then we led every lap of the feature,†Clanton commented. “Those late-race cautions got a little nerve racking, but I knew I had the car to beat, and that I just needed to keep hitting my marks. I’ve got one great crew with me now, and I’ve got great backing from Skyline Motorsports and all of my sponsors. We’re back to being a contender every time that we hit the track, and that’s a great feeling.â€
On Thursday night Shane Clanton was one of 27 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at Stateline Speedway (Busti, New York), as he kicked off the three-day northeastern swing. Improving one spot in his heat race, Clanton posted a runner-up finish behind Darrell Lanigan, which locked him into the third-starting spot for the opening night feature. With $10,000 on the line, Shane ultimately crossed the finish line in the seventh position in the 50 lapper.
The following night at Outlaw Speedway (Dundee, New York), Shane registered the fastest lap in time trials before cruising to a heat race victory. Earning the pole position for the A-Main, Clanton led flag-to-flag en route to his eighth win of the season, which came over Brandon Sheppard, Chase Junghans, Cade Dillard, and Dennis Erb Jr. He pocketed a $10,000 payday for his winning performance.
On Saturday evening at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) for the Jeff’s Auto Body National Open, Clanton secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with a third-place finish in his heat. Breaking into the Top-5, Shane gained five spots in the 50-lap feature, reeling in a fourth-place finish behind Darrell Lanigan, Ricky Weiss, and Brandon Sheppard with Gregg Satterlee coming in 5th.

Next up for Clanton is a very special event for the Georgia racer. This Saturday night, September 28 he’ll enter the fifth annual Billy Clanton Classic at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia). The Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals event posts a $10,000 top prize. Shane won the 2015 and 2016 editions of the race, which salutes the memory of his late father.
