Dennis Erb, Jr. Sixth in Final WOOLMS Points; Trip to Whynot to Close Season
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team wrapped up their yearlong chase of the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series Championship from November 7-9 in the annual running of the 'World Finals' at the pristine Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, North Carolina. Following two qualifying laps on Thursday night for the 69 Super Late Model competitors in attendance, a pair of $12,000 top prizes were on the line in front of huge Charlotte crowds.
On Friday evening, Dennis Erb, Jr. placed sixth in his loaded heat race and fourth in his B-Main prior to utilizing a series provisional and winding up twentieth in the final rundown of the 50-lap feature. In Saturday's finale, Dennis grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race and later climbed three spots in the 50-lapper en route to a thirteenth place showing. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was officially awarded a sixth place finish in the final WOOLMS point standings at the awards banquet, which was held on Sunday at Great Wolf Lodge in Concord. With 90 events already in the books for the 2019 campaign, the #28 team will enter their 91st and final show on November 15-16 at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. The rescheduled running of the Coors Light ‘Fall Classic’ will take place this upcoming weekend and the unsanctioned contest will start with qualifying and heat races on Friday night. The consolation events and the 100-lap ‘Fall Classic’ will then wrap up the weekend on Saturday evening and Dennis will gun for the hefty $15,000 winner’s check. He has transferred into the last nine ‘Fall Classic’ headliners with a best finish of second coming back in 2011!
