Howard Moore Races to Back-To-Back USCS Sprint Car Victories
Increases Win Total to Five with Riverside and Magnolia Triumphs
Memphis, Tennessee (07/06/21) – Holiday weekend action found Howard Moore twice topping United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder action in his Rains Motorsports/ Mike's Pool Care No. 3 High-Performance Lubricants Sprint Car.
The Tennessee throttle masher bested the competition on Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway before winning Sunday night’s go at Magnolia Motor Speedway.
“We carried last week’s momentum into this weekend’s events, and we were able to ‘park it’ on Saturday and Sunday,†Moore noted. “A.G. (Rains) and Mike (Ward) have got this car absolutely dialed in right now, and I’m having a blast in the driver’s seat.â€
After seeing Thursday night's scheduled action at I-30 Speedway claimed by Mother Nature, Howard Moore and Rains Motorsports kicked off their holiday weekend of action on Friday night at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.) with the United Speed Contest Series (USCS) Sprint Car Tour presented by K&N Filters.
In a field of 26 Sprinters, Howard earned the sixth-starting spot for the feature. He would run in the Top 10 throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in sixth.
Saturday evening found the action shifting to the historic Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Ark.) for another USCS program. A sixth-to-third run in his heat race positioned Moore fifth on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature.
In the finale, Howard bided his time before working into the lead in the closing laps. He went on to score the victory, which marked his fourth of the 2021 campaign.
Dale Howard, Terry Gray, Brad Bowden, and Cody Gardner completed the Top-5 finishers.
Howard brought his busy weekend of racing to a close on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) as the USCS Sprint Cars drew 19 entries to the track known as "The Mag." Beginning the night with a victory in the Hoosier Speed Dash, Moore backed it up with a heat race win to earn the third-starting spot for the feature.
Howard ran in a podium position throughout the feature and looked to be on his way to a runner-up finish before race leader, Derek Hagar, had a tire go flat on the final circuit. Moore inherited the lead and powered away from the field on the green-white checkered restart to pick up his second-straight win and fifth overall of the season.
"Man that's a heartbreaking way for Derek (Hagar) to lose the race. I hate it for him, but we were in position to capitalize if anything went wrong for the leader, and that's what we did," Moore said. "What a great weekend for our team. I just can't thank everyone, enough who supports this program. I'm just the lucky guy who gets to drive the car."
Marshall Skinner, Dale Howard, Brent Crews, and Landon Crawley rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

This Saturday the team will trek to Tracey Clay’s I-30 Speedway for a Weekly Racing Series Event. Howard currently holds a two-point advantage atop the latest track standings for the Sprint Car division.
