Cory Hedgec ock Tops American All-Star Event at Smoky Mountain
Records Second Five-Figure Payday in as Many Weeks
LOUDON, Tenn. (08/10/21) – Just one week removed from registering his biggest payday of the season, Cory Hedgec ock added another $10,000 triumph to the 2021 resume with a Saturday night trip to Victory Lane in his E-Z-GO No. 23 Green’s Recycling / I-75 Raceway / Black Diamond Race Car / Eagle Racing Engine Late Model.
The latest conquest came at Smokey Mountain Speedway with the American All-Star Series.
“As rough as Friday night went at Wartburg Speedway was how good things went on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway. We had a solid Black Diamond Race Car in the feature. The last 8-10 laps we got extremely tight, but thankfully I was able to hold on for the win and I’ll take them anyway that we can get them,†Hedgec ock noted. “Thank you to everyone for the positive calls and texts. They mean the world to me. This weekend, we’ll be heading to Talladega (Short Track) for the $10,000-to-win Super Late Model race.â€
On Friday afternoon Cory Hedgec ock visited Wartburg Speedway (Wartburg, Tenn.), where he entered his E-Z-GO No. 23 Steelhead Late Model into action in the Dylan Kennedy Memorial. With 31 Late Models on hand, Hedgec ock secured his spot into the $10,037-to-win A-Main with a heat race win. Running into trouble near the middle stages of the 50-lapper, Cory was an early retiree on the 20th circuit. He was credited with a 17th-place finish
Meanwhile, for the American All-Star Series-sanctioned Smoky Mountain Summer Showdown on Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.), Cory outran fast-qualifier Matt Henderson in the Dash to pick up the six-lap victory. Keeping Henderson at bay for all 60 laps of the feature, Hedgec ock stormed to his seventh win of the season, which came over Henderson, Eli Beets, Zach Sise, and Dillon Brown. He earned $10,000 for his winning performance.

This Saturday, August 14 the team will roll into Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) for the $10,000-to-win Governor’s Cup, which will be sanctioned by the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series.
