Ricky Weiss Nabs $10,000 Crate Racin’ USA Victory at Magnolia Motor Speedway
Set to Return with Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals at I-75 on Tuesday
HEADINGLEY, MANITOBA, Canada (07/15/24) – Ricky Weiss and a visit to Victory Lane are becoming a common occurrence for the driver who now calls Tennessee home.
His latest accolade came over the weekend with a $10,000 victory at Magnolia Motor Speedway aboard his Drydene Performance Products No. 7 G-Style Transport / LG Transport / Derrick’s Sandblasting / Sniper Chassis Late Model in the track’s 20th annual Governor’s Cup.
The 75-lap triumph was Weiss’ third straight with the Rogers-Dabbs Crate Racin’ USA 604 Series and his eighth overall of the 2024 season.
“It was pretty cool to have a test session on Thursday night and kinda shake it down and try some stuff,†Weiss said. “I called Cory (Hedgec ock) from Eagle Engines, he gave me a little bit of advice on gear and tires. That last caution, I really didn’t want to see with about 6 or 7 (laps) to go there. I could hear him on the raceceiver and (Mark) Whitener picked the outside, so I knew if I could get through (turns) one and two real good, I thought we’d be okay.â€
Ricky Weiss unloaded his Drydene No. 7 Sniper Chassis at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) over the weekend for the on Friday afternoon for the first night of the Governor's Cup.
With a staggering 53 Crate Racin' USA entries on hand, Weiss laid down the fastest lap in his qualifying group and dominated his heat race which locked him into Saturday's A-Main.
Earning the pole position for Saturday's $10,000-to-win finale, Ricky led the first 15 laps before briefly losing the top spot. Regaining the point on lap 21, Weiss pulled away and led the remaining 55 laps to collect the $10,000 payday. Weiss scored his third Crate Racin' USA triumph of the year while Corey Neil Jr. and Mark Whitener joined him on the podium.
Swapping cars for Sunday's Southern National Series show at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.), Weiss sat on the pole of the $7,553-to-win feature and ran third after 40-laps behind Dale McDowell and Chris Madden.

Tuesday will see Weiss return to action with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) for the fourth round of the 12-race miniseries. A $7,553 payday will be up for grabs.
