Brandon Sheppard Finishes Seventh in Rocket1 Racing Return
Sunshine Nationals Set to Roll this Friday and Saturday at Volusia
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (01/23/25) – Brandon Sheppard made his official return to the Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model with the Super Bowl of Racing at Georgia’s Golden Isles Speedway last weekend.
While Mother Nature wreaked havoc on much of the weekend’s scheduled festivities, Sheppard was able to contest a single event on Friday night, where he rallied through the field to finish seventh.
“I was pretty mad at myself because I made driver mistakes in qualifying and again in my heat race, but the team made repairs and got this Rocket1 Racing hotrod dialed in, and we had a great run in the feature,” Sheppard said. “It’s awesome to be back with these guys, and hopefully Mother Nature will cut us some slack and let us get back to racing soon.”
In an exciting reunion to kick off the 2025 season, Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard traveled to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on Friday evening for the rain-shortened Super Bowl of Racing.
Drawing 44 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Sheppard raced into Friday’s opener with a fifth-to-second run in his B-Main after losing ground in his heat race. With a $12,000 preliminary payday up for grabs in the feature, Brandon passed 12 cars in the 50-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.
Inclement weather and an unfavorable forecast forced track and series officials to cancel the final two rounds of the Super Bowl of Racing on Saturday and Sunday.

This week Rocket1 Racing is at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) for the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series Sunshine Nationals. While Mother Nature has forced the cancellation of Thursday night’s program, action resumes with a $12,000-to-win program on Friday, and a $20,000-to-win finale on Saturday.
