Rod Conley Lands on Florence Speedway Podium; Trip to Eldora Speedway Next
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Both Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) drivers were in the pit area at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday night, April 12. The Northern Allstars Late Model Dirt Series presided over the action at the Cincinnati-area venue and a $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Rod Conley clicked off the fourth fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session before placing second in his heat race. "Hot Rod" then steered past four competitors during the 40-lap headliner to land on the podium in third behind only victor Josh Rice and runner-up Michael Chilton!
R.J. Conley, on the other hand, went fourth quickest in Group B during NALMS qualifying prior to finishing second in his respective heat race. After starting the 40-lapper from the outside of the fourth row, the Wheelersburg, Ohio ace wound up ninth in the final finishing order at the unfurling of the checkers. “Hot Rod” Conley will be the lone CMI driver in action over the upcoming April 18-19 weekend, as his #71R team will invade the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday evening for the track’s season opener. The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series will preside over the Super Late Model portion of the program and Rod will be vying for the $5,000 top prize. R.J. Conley and his #71C team will be taking Easter weekend off from racing action. More information concerning the single-day show at the “Big E” can be found online at www.imdirt.net.
