Dennis Erb, Jr. Heads to FALS Fresh Off Trio of Top Ten Finishes with Lucas Oil Series
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team hit the road with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from July 15-19 for four lucrative events in the states of Iowa and South Dakota. Last Tuesday night at Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, a $25,053 winner's check was up for grabs in the 'Kosiski Family 53.' Dennis timed in second quickest in Group B during the qualifying session before securing a victory in his loaded heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then ran inside of the top five during the early portion of the 53-lap feature before winding up eighth at the unfurling of the checkered flag.
At Huset's Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, a trio of shows made up the annual 'Silver Dollar Nationals.' In the pair of $10,000 to win preliminary programs, Dennis ran thirteenth in Thursday's 40-lapper, while he placed seventh in the final rundown of Friday's similar 40-lap main event. With a whopping $75,000 paycheck on the line on Saturday evening, Dennis ran second in his heat race and was in the ninth spot after 67 completed circuits when the race was rain-shortened and declared official. Dennis Erb Racing will now turn their sights to the biggest event of the year in their home state of Illinois - the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic.’ Action kicks off later tonight, July 23 at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois with a FloRacing Night in America Series show. Dennis currently sits eleventh in the latest version of the miniseries point standings heading into tonight’s $20,000 to win throwdown.
The World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series then roars into FALS over the July 25-26 weekend to preside over the 35th edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic.’ Dennis will compete in one of the four $5,000 to win preliminary features on Friday evening, while Saturday’s finale includes the consolation events and the 100-lap headliner. A $50,000 payday once again greets the winner of the PDC plus $500 a lap leader bonus.
