Dennis Erb Racing Rejoins World of Outlaws Tour this Week in Illinois and Iowa
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team made the trek to Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois on Friday night, August 8 for the running of the 'Sycamore Showcase,' which was sanctioned by the MARS Late Model Championship Series. Dennis Erb, Jr. tripped the clock third quickest overall during the qualifying session prior to recording a heat race triumph. After starting fourth on the grid in the 40-lap main event, Dennis vaulted up to as high as second and finished behind only $5,000 victor Jason Feger at the unfurling of the checkered flag. Dennis and his #28 team will rejoin the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series from August 13-16 in four big events across the states of Illinois and Iowa. Things kick off later this evening at Highland Speedway, as a $12,000 top prize will be up for grabs at the Highland, Illinois bullring. Another $12,000 payday will be on the line on Thursday night at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois.
The busy four-race stretch will then conclude over the weekend in the annual ‘Hawkeye 100’ at Maquoketa Speedway in Maquoketa, Iowa. On Friday evening, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series stars will vie for another $12,000 winner’s check. Saturday’s weekend finale in the Hawkeye State will then pay a whopping $20,000 to the winner. Dennis comes into the quadrupleheader sixth in the latest version of the national touring series point standings.
