R.J. Conley Runner-Up in Summer Sizzle; Busy Holiday Weekend Ahead for CMI

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Both Rod and R.J. Conley made the short trip north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday night, August 23. The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series sanctioned the 'Summer Sizzle' and a $5,000 top prize was on the line. R.J. Conley timed in tenth quickest overall during qualifying before advancing two spots to finish second in his heat race. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace then made a late charge in the 30-lap headliner to place a close runner-up behind only race winner Clint Keenan!

Rod Conley, who came into Atomic Speedway third in the latest Iron-Man Series point standings, slipped to sixth in his loaded heat race prior to picking up a victory in the B-Main. After rolling off from the outside of the eighth row in the main event, "Hot Rod" blitzed past a handful of competitors to land in the eleventh finishing position. Complete results from Atomic Speedway can be found online by clicking on www.imdirt.net.

R.J. and his #71C team will venture south to Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Kentucky on Sunday for a $3,500 to win, unsanctioned shootout.
