Top Five for Dennis Erb, Jr. in World 100 Prelim Feature; Southeastern Tripleheader Next
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The 55th edition of the 'World 100' took center stage for the Dennis Erb Racing team from September 4-6 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The biggest dirt race in the world kicked off with a pair of $12,000 to win, split-field preliminary programs. On Thursday night in the opener, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran sixth in his Shootout race and fifteenth in his 25-lap main event. In a similar preliminary program on Friday evening, Dennis placed second in his Shootout race before starting and finishing his 25-lapper in the fifth spot behind only winner Dale McDowell, Bobby Pierce, Ethan Dotson, and Devin Moran.
When Saturday rolled around at the 1/2-mile speedplant, the stands were jammed packed and the first-ever sell out crowd in Eldora Speedway history was on hand to witness the $72,000 to win grand finale. Dennis finished a strong runner-up in his loaded heat race and later started the 100-lap crown jewel headliner from the inside of the fifth row. After battling for a position inside of the top ten throughout the distance, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace eventually placed eleventh in the final rundown of the 'World 100.' Another three-race weekend greets the #28 team in the states of Tennessee and Georgia. Up first will be a stop at the ultra-fast Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee later tonight, September 11. The FloRacing Night in America Series rolls into “The Gap” and a $20,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the ‘Scott Bloomquist Memorial.’ Dennis comes into tonight ninth in the latest version of the miniseries point standings. The World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series schedule will then fire back up on September 12-13 with a pair of events in the Peach State. Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia will play host to a $12,000 to win throwdown on Friday night, while Saturday’s $15,000 to win weekend finale will take place at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia.
