R.J. Conley Nabs Top Five in Fall 40; Seeks Track Championship at Atomic Speedway
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams invaded Mudlick Valley Raceway in Wallingford, Kentucky on Saturday night, October 4 for the annual running of the Fall 40. The Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series played host to the single-day shootout and a $10,000 winner’s check was up for grabs. R.J. Conley went fourth fastest in Group A during the qualifying session before running second in his heat race. R.J. then advanced inside of the top five to finish fifth in the 40-lap headliner behind only victor Michael Chilton, Rusty Schlenk, Colten Burdette, and Jason Jameson!
Series regular Rod Conley was also in action at Mudlick Valley Raceway on Saturday evening. “Hot Rod” utilized a series provisional to start shotgun on the field in the Fall 40. The Wheelersburg, Ohio ace then blitzed past nine competitors during the contest to salvage a steady twelfth place performance. Rod still finds himself third in the latest version of the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series point standings exiting the visit to the Bluegrass State. Next up for both #71 teams will be a short trip north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening, October 11. The track’s annual Night of Champions will be held tomorrow night and a $3,000 top prize will be on the line for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Not only will R.J. be seeking the first prize money, but he is also looking to secure the Track Championship at the Chillicothe-area oval.
