Dennis Erb, Jr. Invades Boothill Speedway Fresh Off World of Outlaws Win in Kansas!
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. recorded his fifteenth career World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series triumph last Friday night, October 3 at Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas! Dennis stopped the clock fourth quickest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to claiming a heat race victory. After drawing the outside of the second row before the start of the 40-lap feature, Dennis inherited the point on lap twelve when leader Chase Junghans went for a spin. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $12,000 first place prize ahead of runner-up Dustin Sorensen, Brian Shirley, Bobby Pierce, and Ethan Dotson!
On Saturday evening, October 4, the dirt-slinging action quickly shifted to 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas for the $20,000 to win Ed Gressel Memorial. Dennis went third fastest in Group A during time trials and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in the 50-lap headliner, Dennis ultimately finished right where he started… in the ninth position. Exiting the Sunflower State, Dennis still finds himself sixth in the latest version of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings. “We’ve been struggling a little bit this year, up and down for sure,” Erb, Jr. was quoted in victory lane following his second overall win of the year at Humboldt. “We got things rolling a little bit, but we’ve kind of fell off a little bit here the last couple of weeks. But tonight, we had a good car early and just finished it off to get the win. Heather (Lyne) has been working real hard and I can’t thank her and everyone else that is a part of our team enough!”
The Dennis Erb Racing team has dipped south to compete at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, Louisiana in the two-day Bayou Classic on October 10-11. Action gets underway later tonight with a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series shootout. Saturday’s weekend finale will then boast a whopping $50,000 winner’s check.
