Dennis Erb, Jr. Eyes National 100 Following Top Five Effort at Whynot Motorsports Park
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The 31st Annual Coors Light 'Fall Classic' was up next on the racing calendar for the Dennis Erb Racing team on October 24-25, as Dennis Erb, Jr. was gunning for his third race title at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. On Friday night during preliminary action, Dennis timed in seventh quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to running second in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the second row in his $3,000 to win semifeature, Dennis steered his #28 machine to a sixth place performance behind only victor Trey Mills, Brandon Overton, Payton Freeman, Brent Larson, and Zack Mitchell.
At Whynot on Saturday evening, the 41 car field battled for a $20,000 first place prize in the 'Fall Classic' grand finale. Dennis stopped the clock thirteenth fastest in Group A during time trials and later blasted past four cars in his heat race to finish third. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout then worked his way past five more competitors during the 60-lapper to land in the fourth spot behind only race winner Ashton Winger, Ethan Dotson, and Zack Mitchell. The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their focus to the ‘National 100’ at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama on October 31-November 2. Following an open practice session tonight, three straight Super Late Model specials will be held at EAMS. Friday’s opener will pay $5,000 to win, while Saturday’s shootout will boast a $10,000 winner’s check. On Sunday evening, a whopping $30,000 windfall will be up for grabs in the ‘National 100’ headliner.
