Speedweeks Wraps Up for Dennis Erb Racing this Week at Golden Isles Speedway
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The busy Speedweeks for Dennis Erb, Jr. continued from February 24-28 with five Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series shootouts during the 'Wieland Winternationals' at Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida. With a rain-out on Friday, only four races officially got into the record books. Dennis enjoyed his best effort of the week last Thursday night in a $10,000 to win program. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race prior to passing four cars during the 40-lapper en route to a solid tenth place showing.
Other finishes for the week at Ocala included a thirteenth in Tuesday's $7,000 to win opener and a twelfth in Wednesday's similar $7,000 to win show. In Saturday's grand finale, which boasted a hefty $25,000 top prize, Dennis unfortunately was not able to advance into the 50-lap headliner after placing eighth in his heat race and sixth in his B-Main. The Speedweeks journey for the #28 team will wrap up from March 4-7 at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction four events at GIS in the upcoming days - starting with tonight’s $7,000 to win showdown. The winning purse escalates throughout the week, as Dennis and the rest of the competitors on the grounds will vie for a $10,000 first place prize on Thursday, a $12,000 payday on Friday, and a $25,000 windfall on Saturday.
Each of the four shows this week - starting tonight - will be broadcast LIVE to subscribers of FloRacing with hot laps rolling off at 5:30pm eastern time. More information on each race can be accessed by pointing your web browser to www.lucasdirt.com.
