Drake Troutman Adds Two Wins in John Johnson No. 48T Late Model
Doubleheader at Sharon Speedway Awaits Pending Weather
HYNDMAN, Pa. (July 6, 2026) — In his first starts since stepping away from his full-time ride with Team 22 Inc., Drake Troutman made an immediate impact in the John Johnson-owned No. 48T Late Model, scoring a pair of Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series victories in Pennsylvania and New York.
The 21-year-old earned a $6,000 victory in Wednesday's Liberty Classic at Michael's Mercer Raceway before backing it up with another win Friday in the Stars and Stripes Showdown opener at The Dirt Track at Genesee.
"I've gotta give a huge shoutout to Colton Flinner and his family and Johnny Johnson for giving us an opportunity to get back on the racetrack here a little before expected," Troutman said after Wednesday’s mid-week triumph "I think this just goes to show you what kind of crew I got ... It's been up and down (the) last week or so and there's times we might be down, but never count us out."
Troutman's week began Wednesday at Pennsylvania's Michael's Mercer Raceway, where he outran Floridian Clay Harris to win his heat race before leading all 40 laps of the Liberty Classic feature to collect the $6,000 top prize.
He carried that momentum to The Dirt Track at Genesee in Batavia, New York, on Friday, dominating both his heat race and the 25-lap main event to earn another $3,000 payday and his third victory of the season.

Troutman's stint behind the wheel of the John Johnson-owned entry isn't over yet. He is scheduled to return to action this weekend with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for the two-day Battle at the Border at Sharon Speedway, weather permitting.
