Brandon Sheppard Captures Second Herald & Review 100 Trophy at Macon

Brandon Sheppard Captures Second Herald & Review 100 Trophy at Macon
Banks $7,500 DIRTcar Summer Nationals Prize

SHINNISTON, W.VA. (July 6, 2026) — A weekend that began with the Rocket1 Racing team in Ohio ended in victory lane for Brandon Sheppard, who climbed behind the wheel of his family-owned No. B5 Late Model and captured Saturday's Pepsi Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway.

The Illinois native led all 101 laps of the prestigious event to earn his second career Herald & Review 100 victory, collecting the $7,500 top prize after coming up just short one year ago.

“This race has always meant the world to me. I grew up watching races here, watching my dad here. It means the world for him and my whole family,” Sheppard said. “It means the world to me to have Macon Speedway have a packed house. I knew I had to make the trek home to support it. Any time we can support our local dirt tracks, we love to.”

Sheppard's weekend was originally scheduled to begin Friday, but Mother Nature had other plans. After the event was moved from Atomic Speedway to Mansfield Speedway, he raced his way into the $25,000-to-win feature through his heat race before rain washed out the remainder of the program during the third heat race.

Returning to action Saturday at Muskingum County Speedway with the Rocket1 Racing team, Sheppard followed a heat race victory with a seventh-place finish in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Freedom 50.

Closing out the weekend Sunday, Sheppard shifted gears and returned to his family-owned No. B5 for the trip to Illinois' Macon Speedway, where he paced the 21-car field from flag to flag in the 101-lap feature to secure his 29th career DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory.
