Dennis Erb, Jr. Set for Labor Day Weekend Tripleheader with MARS Racing Series

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team followed the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to a trio of different dirt ovals in the Hawkeye State from August 26-29. Up first was a visit to Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Wednesday for the ‘Corn Belt Showdown.’ Dennis Erb, Jr. started and finished seventh in his heat race prior to advancing to place fifteenth in the 35-lap feature, which carried a $12,000 first place prize.

A pair of $20,000 winner’s checks were then on the line with the national tour over the weekend at both Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa and Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa. On Friday at Corning, Dennis ran third in his stacked heat race before finishing a solid eighth in the final rundown of the 45-lap headliner. In a similar show on Saturday at Harlan, Dennis laid down the second quickest lap in Group A during qualifying, won his heat race, and led the opening five circuits of the 50-lapper.

Unfortunately, a busted oil line on lap fourteen forced the Carpentersville, Illinois standout to retire from the contest in the twenty-fourth position. Exiting the stint in the Hawkeye State, Dennis sits ninth in the latest version of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series point standings. Full results from each race can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be an action-packed tripleheader with the MARS Racing Series from September 3-5. A pair of $5,000 top prizes will be up for grabs later tonight in ‘Twisted Twin 25s’ at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. Another $5,000 payday will then be earmarked for Friday’s victor at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The Labor Day weekend tripleshot will then conclude on Saturday evening at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois with the $15,000 to win ‘Illinois Dirt Shootout.’ Watch all three nights LIVE on FloRacing or learn more about each program by accessing www.marsracingseries.com.
