Jay D ickens Racing Engines Claim Dirt Track World Championship
Aberdeen, MS (10/19/11) – It was a big weekend for Jay Di ckens Racing Engines (JDRE) as Don O'Neal powered his #71 Mastersbilt/JDRE-powered entry to the $50,000 win in the 31st Annual U.S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship presented by Sunoco Race fuels.
Ninety of the top Super Late Model pilots in the country entered the event, and O'Neal started the weekend by qualifying fourth fastest in his group. He went on to win the first heat race to claim the pole position for the 100 lap finale. O'Neal snagged the lead at the drop of the green flag and went on to lead all 100 laps to claim the win, which came over Jimmy Owens, Josh Richards, Scott Bloomquist, and Ray Cook. Don also finished third in the final Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) standings.
John Anderson and the Shopquick Racing team won the Lucas Oil MLRA Super Late Model crown over the weekend with a pair of strong runs at West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, Missouri) in their #2 Mastersbilt/Jay Di ckens Racing Engine Super Late Model.
