Jake Jones Racing Prepares for Season Opener after Busy Off-Season; Announces Release of the All New jakejonesracing.com.
It’s been a busy winter for Shermans Dale’s Jake Jones as he and the team prepare for the upcoming 2012 racing season. While managing the task of preparing the team’s new Lazer 358 late model in preparation for the April, 21st Williams Grove Speedway opener, Jake dabbled in a little fabrication work by building a Street Stock for Cousin Eric Tripp. This is the second Street Stock to come out of the Jake Jones Racing shop.
“It has been a long couple of months†said Jones. “Eric always wanted to race and we got to talking about putting a car together for him. It all snowballed from there. I love doing the fabrication and I’m seriously thinking about expanding my business to include that part of it. Now that Eric’s car is finished I can concentrate on mine. The season will be here before you know it†added Jake.
Jake Jones Racing will once again prepare the yellow #43 Lazer Chassis for an all out assault on the Williams Grove Speedway championship. The car will once again be powered by a Dana Smith power plant. “Last year we were very good at times but also very bad at times. Our goal this year is to find that consistency†said the 2009 SSP Track Champion. “Gene(Knaub), Bobby(Beard) and those guys are tough, so you need to have your car just right every time you roll out onto the speedway. We lacked that last year and are working hard to get the car to drive and feel like it did in 2010. We plan to be at all the Grove shows and are looking at some Susquehanna & Bedford races also this year. I really liked Bedford, finishing 2nd both times we were there last year. With the warmer weather we have been having this winter, it really gets you excited to get the season underway†added Jones.
This will be an especially exciting year for Jake and his Wife Steph. They are expecting their second child in early April. 18 month old Jax is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his baby brother and can be seen in the garage, with hammer in hand helping Dad prepare his Miller Racing Parts sponsored race car.
Jake Jones Racing would also like to announce the release of the all new www.jakejonesracing.com . The site has been completely re-done by WRT’s Jason Walls. “I am very happy with the way the site turned out. Jason’s work is second to none. He has done an outstanding job with my business site and the racing site is just awesome. We plan on staying on top of this site with updates throughout the year†stated Jones.
