Hunter Rasdon Set for $4,004-To-Win Jason Robbins Memorial

Jonesboro, Arkansas (07/12/12) – Hunter Rasdon will debut his #r5 Mastersbilt/Jay D ickens Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified this weekend in the $4,004-to-win, Jason Robbins Memorial at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi).

Hunter has spent the first half of the season piloting the #r5 Team Country Pleasin/Warrior/Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model, but has been out of action the past few weeks as the team waits on new power plants. While he plans to return the driver's seat of the Super Late Model next weekend, he will be entering his first Open Wheel Modified event of the season this Saturday at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi) in the 5th Annual Jason Robbins Memorial. Many of the region's top Open Wheel Modified competitors are expected to converge on the 1/4 mile oval for the big event. The event will include heat races, b-mains, and the finale. For more information on the event, please visit www.JacksonMotorSpeedway.net .

Hunter was last in action on Saturday, June 16th as he entered a $2,500-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model event at Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) as twenty-eight cars registered for battle. The night started on a sour note as mechanical issues resulted in him qualifying resulted in him being last in his group. As a result he started tenth in his b-main. With the top six cars transferring to the feature, Hunter raced to a fifth place finish to lock into the eighteenth starting spot for the main event. Early in the feature he began working his way through the pack, but bad luck would strike again as he began losing oil pressure. As a result, he retired from the event to save his equipment and was credited with a nineteenth place finish. Full results from the event are available at www.StateSeries.com.
